Frequently Asked Questions

What are credits?
Credits are the billing unit for API calls. Each tool call costs 1–4 credits based on complexity. Simple text tools cost 1 credit; heavy processing tools like PDF manipulation cost 2–4 credits.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Requests return a 402 error. If you have a payment method on file and overdraft enabled, API calls continue at $0.0033/credit, billed at the end of your cycle up to your overdraft cap.
Do purchased credits expire?
Never. Purchased credit packs remain in your account until fully used, regardless of subscription status.
Can I use the API without a subscription?
Yes. The Free plan includes 500 credits/month. You can also purchase credit packs at any time without a paid subscription for pay-as-you-go access.
How does overdraft work?
When subscription and purchased credits are exhausted, overdraft keeps your API calls running. You set a spending cap (default $10). Usage is tallied and charged at your billing cycle end.
Can I change plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time. Your credit balance adjusts at the start of your next billing cycle.
